If you want to mount a device to something, be it a camera, tablet, EFB, smartphone, fish-finder, or GPS - RAM almost certainly has it covered.  Want to mount a smartphone on your motorcycle?  No problem.  A tablet mounting solution for your trucking fleet?  Job done. Kneeboard mount for your aircraft or fish finder for your Jet-ski?  We can handle that.  A cell phone mount for your windscreen?  RAM provides the most reliable and durable solutions on the market. RAM mounts are not the cheapest on the market, but neither is the device you need to secure and protect when you are moving.

Our RAM mounts NZ are made to last from marine-grade aluminum or high-strength composites.  In general product codes starting with “RAM-“ are aluminium and “RAP-“ are composite. RAM- components are designed to provide lightweight strength and corrosion resistance.  They are manufactured of marine-grade aluminum with a black powder-coated finish, stainless steel hardware, and rubber balls. The composite RAP- components include single and double-socket arm assemblies with the same patented rubber ball and socket technology.  In environments where weight is critical, or the mount will be exposed to regular immersion then high-strength composite RAP- components may be preferable.  For several bases and arms, there are equivalent RAM- and RAP- versions.

Unleash Your Imagination with RAM Modular System

The RAM system is modular, and the only limit is your imagination.  You typically need a base, an arm, adapter and a cradle for your device. RAM does have a few low-profile mounts that don't include a component. Our dedicated team will help you choose the right one for you with our extensive collection.

The size of the ball and socket system varies according to load capacity.  1"/B-size ball for up to 0.91kg load, 1.5"/C-size ball for 1.81kg load, 2.25” D size will handle 2.72kg and if you’re going tough the 3.38” E Series will take a massive 6.8kg load.  See the RAM Glossary page for more info.

Arms generally come in three lengths regardless of the ball size.  Simple – short, medium, and long.  If you find the perfect complete mount but the arm size is too long, or too short just contact us as swapping to a different length arm is usually easily done (note: there may be a cost as longer arms cost more!).

The last part is the cradle.  There are specific form-fitting cradles – designed for a particular model of phone/tablet/GPS without a case.  If your device has a case, or there is no RAM-specific cradle then there will be a universal cradle to suit.  Universal bases include the X-Grip series, Tab-Tite, Finger-Grip, Quick-Grip, Power Plate, Marine Electronic Bases, and Camera Bases.

You must check the dimensions of your device when you are considering Universal cradles.  The list of “Compatible Devices” that we have on many product pages is being constantly updated but it is not exhaustive.

If you already know the part number for the complete amount that you require and cannot find it on our site - try putting "-V" on the end - e.g. the popular RAM-B-166-UN7U would be RAM-B-166-UN7U-V.  That would mean we have the parts to make the complete kit - the same parts, the same pricing as the complete kit.
