Adaptors

Choosing a mirror is the easy part.  Now you need to make it fit.  Start with how you want to attach it to your handlebars or roll cage, add an arm and you are in business.  

Don't like the arm that is included in the kit - don't worry all length RAM B series arms are compatible with the 1" ball bases and the Doubletake mirrors.

Roll cage?  Look no further than the RAM-B-108BU roll cage mount.

Handlebars?     For a stand-alone mirror installation choose from RAM U-bolt, Torque Clamp Clutch/Brake reservoir mounts or a DoubleTake Spit Clamp and an M10 x 1.25 threaded ball.  Some BMW singles will take the RAM-B-367U ball base..

For mounting into existing mirror bosses use a threaded ball base. This is where it gets interesting.  Most motorbikes will take an M10x1.25 threaded ball (RAM-B-349U) directly, however some BMWs require an M10x1.5 pitch thread (RAM-B-349U-1).

PLEASE NOTE:

Depending on your bike your mirrors may both screw in the same way or in opposite directions.  If they screw in opposite directions then you will need an adaptor (DTM-Y) - however if you do that that mirrors will not be level - add a DTM-E to balance them up.  BMW's have a special adaptor (because their riders are special) - DTM-BMW and KTM's have a split adaptor for some models (DTM-KTM). 

You can of course use the DTM-E to simply raise the height of the mirror if the length of the standard mirror is .. well .. long!

If there isn't a mirror post on your bike fear not Doubletake have the DTM-Split which can be used on any dirt bike, or any street bike to create or replace a mirror perch.

Reverse-thread adaptors will be needed for some Aprilia, Ducati, Royal Enfield and Yamaha models amongst others.
