The RAM-D-230U is a heavy-duty double-ended ball adapter that joins two D size (2.25") RAM double socket arms together for extra reach and articulation. It is the largest of the double ball adapters, built for big, load-bearing setups. Powder-coated marine-grade aluminium, lifetime warranty.

Will my mount be just as stable if I add this to extend it?
No. Extending a mount or adding another pivot point always trades away some stability, so you may see more shake or vibration. With the D size, though, you are working with RAM's heaviest-duty balls, which helps.
